Landfill Alternatives

Landfill Alternatives

Part of minimizing our environmental impact is minimizing the amount of garbage we create. Here are some tips for reducing garbage and contributing less to the landfill:

- Recycle plastic, paper, metal and glass

- Compost fruit and vegetable scraps

- Buy goods with less packaging

- Donate to Throwplace.com; the internet's alternative to landfill. You can contribute new or slightly used items for charities to take for free, throw in used, broken or out-dated items for refurbishing and recycling or for the taking by someone else. Everything on the site is free!

- Donate your used computers and electronic goods to Computer Recycling Center to be refurbished and donated to schools and non-profits

Reuse and recycle what you can and reduce whenever possible!
