The Many Uses of White Vinegar
Remember the father in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and how he put windex on everything? Cut on the finger, spray it with some Windex. Pimple on your chin, spray it with some Windex. I feel that way about white distilled vinegar. It has so many uses and can save you a bundle on cleaning products. Plus it's non toxic. Here are just a few uses:
- Use in a 1:1 mix with water for a counter top spray and mildew cleaner. Also works to kills ants and other insects.
- Add 1/2 cup to the rinse cycle as a fabric softener
- Use undiluted as a toilet bowl cleaner and weed killer.
- Use in a 1:4 mix with water as a glass and window cleaner
- Mix 1 teaspoon with 2 tablespoons of salt to use a scrub to remove lime deposits
- Set some out in a dish to get rid of fruit flies
- Undiluted vinegar stops insect bite itching, soothes a sunburn and can be used as an antiseptic for cuts and scratches.
- Brushing your teeth with white vinegar whitens your teeth and eliminates bad breath
- Add a little to your pet's drinking water to kill fleas
